“If he’s going, let’s go out with a bang and do as much as we can for him so she remembers the fun things she did with dad, even if I have to push him everywhere. “She idolises daddy and over the last few months all she’s seen is him in bed, tired and not wanting to do anything with her. “I set up the Gofundme page because we have a little girl who’s six,” she added. Nattalie has now set up a Gofundme page so the family can make as many memories as they can in the time they have left. Now he’s been given this diagnosis, he feels like, ‘Why me?'” “All he genuinely wants to do is live and do the daily grind of going to work, doing the food shop, the normal stuff. He’s one of the most kindest, caring peple that would do anything for anyone. “It’s been hard to deal with but he’s phenomenal. “Mike has got the mindset of, ‘I’ll wait for one, and if it doesn’t come it doesn’t come',” Nattalie added. Mike’s only remaining option is to receive another kidney transplant – but the likelihood of him surviving long enough to receive one on the waiting list is slim. It’s a death penalty you’re like a ticking time bomb.” “But when you get home and research it, it’s the worst one. “When you get given the diagnosis, you don’t think anything of it,” Nattalie said as she became emotional. Mike has stage five end of life kidney disease – potentially giving him just years left to live. Mike and Nattalie were given the devastating news on January 1. His kidney was not functioning and it was no longer able to process his blood. In late December, his family were called back to hospital to discuss his latest test results. Sadly, Mike’s kidney function continued to drop as his blood pressure rocketed. He went home and it lasted for two days then the fluid came back on his legs and it was causing muscle spasms. Within four days, the fluids had gone from his body. “He was rushed back to hospital and he stayed there for a week. “In the last week of November, the fluid retention had got so bad he was losing consciousness while asleep and he didn’t realise. The doctors were getting worried about that as it was a big sign of kidney failure. “But he had gained weight and had fluid around his heart. “He’s a slim and athletic guy,” Nattalie continued. In the weeks that followed, the dad appeared to be responding to medication well. Mike, originally from Stockport, was given steroids as doctors fought to increase his kidney function. Is the quest viable too: probably no not really. After four weeks, medics pinpointed the cause of Mike’s suffering - his transplanted pancreas had started to fail and his kidney function had dropped to a dangerous level. So in the end: might discardlock be now viable in wild: maybe. You only get the imps at the end of the turn, so you can't interact with them at all before the next turn. That's normally not enough to pull through. Even if you manage all of this: you need still to play the card itself, and when you are at turn 8-9, only if you are lucky to get it till then: you can only use the portal + max 5 mana stuff. Ok, even if you draw 2 cards through 1 time hero-power and 1 time cobolt, you still only have 7 cards, and not every card can be a discard-card. So you still need to discard with 5 cards 6 of yours, because then you are out of steam. On turn 6 you have drawn around 9-11 cards (if you are second, you get an extra card and the coin). The issue is still: you need to discard 1/5th of your deck. The issue is NOT if you manage to discard these. Discardlock want's rather a 3/2 on turn 1 than a quest that does nothing. Let's see the quest:įirst you need to play the quest on turn 1. Also you probably don't have enough cards to play it. The quest is a total control-card too much of an tempo-loss for a discardlock, and tempo here is everything. Personally i think if discardlock is ever a viable deck, it's an aggro-deck where you try to overwhelm the enemy with strong or free minions. While i can see discardlock might be viable in the future (wild only, and i still doubt it, since you can also discard the soulwarden and discard is too random in general), i can't see the quest to be ever viable. The quest is still too slow, far too slow. People need to understand one thing: if discardlock is sometimes viable, the quest still isn't.
